This 7 Days Gorilla Trek Rwanda involves a comprehensive Wildlife watching and Primates trekking in the various tourist attractions of Rwanda.

The Safari Itinerary

Day 1: Arrive at Kigali Airport, Transfer to Volcanoes National Park.

When you arrive at the airport in Kigali, our company representative will receive you and transfer you to Volcanoes National park, the home for Mountain Gorillas in Rwanda. Enroute, you will appreciate the exceptional scenic view of the famous VirungaMountains. Have an overnight and dinner atMountain Gorilla View Lodge (Luxury), Hotel La Palme (Midrange) or Muhabura Hotel (Budget).

Day 2: Gorilla Trek in Rwanda.

Shortly after your early breakfast, transfer to the park head office for briefing followed by a drive to a walking starting point into the wild to look for the Mountain Gorillas in Rwanda. Upon bumping into them, you will expend a full one hour observing and photographing gorillas nourish, feeding or playing around among themselves. Later return to the lodge for Dinner and overnight atMountain Gorilla View Lodge (Luxury), Hotel La Palme (Midrange) or Muhabura Hotel (Budget).

Day 3: Hike up to the Dian Fossey Grave.

You will take your breakfast at the lodge and move out to start your hiking to Karisoke Research Centre to see where the famous zoologist and, the Late Dian Fossey was buried. Dian Fossey, an American primatologist spent close to two decades in Rwanda learning and researching about the Mountain Gorillas and working effortlessly for their conservation. After Dian Fossey Hiking, descend gently and return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay atMountain Gorilla View Lodge (Luxury), Hotel La Palme(Midrange) or Muhabura Hotel (Budget).

Day 4: Drive to Nyungwe Forest National Park, the habitat for Chimps & Monkeys.

Take a delicious breakfast and start a long drive to the southern part of Rwanda to Nyungwe Forest National Park. This park is a known habitat for lots of chimpanzees and several monkey species. Have your dinner and overnight stay at Gisakura Guest House or at Nyungwe Forest Lodge.

Day 5: Chimpanzee Tracking in Nyungwe Forest National Park.

Eat your breakfast and drive to the park headquarters to be briefed about the rules and regulations when you are walking in the wilds and while you are with the chimpanzees in the forest. You will meet the chimps and numerous primates like the black and white monkeys plus many bird species. Later, return to the lodge. Enjoy dinner and overnight stay at Gisakura Guest House or at Nyungwe Forest Lodge.

Day 6: Enjoy Colobus Monkey Tracking and Canopy Walk.

After breakfast, move to the park head office to be informed about the rules of the tracking and walking game. Vanish into the forest with your guide to track the colobus monkeys. In the afternoon, you will go for a canopy walk escapade in the forest. The Canopy Walk is an adventurously enjoyable walk in the cool Nyungwe Forest. Have dinner and overnight at Gisakura Guest House or at Nyungwe Forest Lodge.

Day 7: Return to Kigali, Visit the Genocide Memorial and Butare Museum enroute.

Have your breakfast and drive back to Kigali city. On your way back, you will visit and pay homage to the victims of the 1994 genocide buried at Murambi Genocide Memorial. Murambi Genocide Memorial Centre found in Murambi district in southern Rwanda was another site of massive during the Genocide. The remains of about 45,000 killed by Hutu militias are kept at this memorial centre. You will also visit Nyanza palace and Butare Museum enroute before catching up with your scheduled flight back home.
