5 Days Gorilla and Chimpanzee Safaris Uganda

This 5 days of Gorilla and chimpanzee Safaris in Uganda involves taking gorilla tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, the known address for the Mountain Gorillas in Uganda. It is mainly at Bwindi Impenetrable Forest where Gorilla Trekking Safaris in Uganda are mainly done. After a wonderful gorilla safari, you will connect to Queen Elizabeth National Park, one of Uganda’s biggest National Parks. This park, rich in wildlife also boasts of Kazinga Channel, a 40 km water waterway that joins Lake Edward to Lake George. It’s on this this calm channel that a 2-hour boat cruise is done usually in the evening to the exposure of numerous wild birds and mammals.

Proposed Itinerary for this Gorilla and Chimp Trekking Tours

Day 1: Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park,

Leave Kampala for Impenetrable Forest in western Uganda. Make a stop at the Uganda Equator for some photo-taking and another one in Mbarara Town for lunch. Arrive at the park in the evening hours. Overnight at Gorilla Safari Lodge, Bakiga Lodge or Gorilla Mist Camp on Full Board.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Garner enough energy from a heavy breakfast in preparation for an eagerly awaited Gorilla tour. Get briefed at the park offices and follow the ranger guide in the forest in such of the mountain gorillas. When you meet them, stay for one hour in their midst and return to the lodge for a restful evening and overnight at the Gorilla Safari Lodge, Bakiga Lodge or Gorilla Mist Camp on Full Board.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, do an evening Boat Ride

After breakfast, drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will arrive in the afternoon. After lunch at the lodge, go for a boat ride on Kazinga Channel. The boat cruise lasts between 2 to 3 hours as you view numerous birds and animals on the channel shorelines. In the evening, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight. Accommodation at Mweya Safari Lodge, Ihamba Lakeside Lodge, Katara Lodge or Kyambura Game Lodge on full board.

Day 4: Game Drive in the Morning and Afternoon Chimpanzee Tracking in Kyambura

Wake up early enough for the game drive in the large park plains. After the wild experience, return to the lodge for a heavy breakfast. Later after lunch, you will go for chimpanzee tracking safari in Kyambura Gorge, which is also found in Queen Elizabeth National Park. Its a mesmerising experience to walk under shaded tress in the gorge where you will also see lots of primates and bird species. Later return to the lodge for overnight. Accommodation stay at Mweya Safari Lodge, Ihamba Lakeside Lodge, Katara Lodge or Kyambura Game Lodge on full board.

Day 5: Depart for Kampala.

Enjoy your wonderful breakfast and start you drive to Kampala, arrive in the evening. Stay in Kampala or be transferred to Entebbe for overnight or to the airport in case of any late evening flight. This is the end of the Gorilla Trekking Safari in Uganda.
