Adventure Uganda Safaris – Chimp and Gorilla Trekking plus Wildlife Safaris

This exclusive package for Adventure Uganda Safaris invloves primate and wildlife safaris. Among the primate safaris include chimpanzee and gorilla trekking. Detailed Safari Itineray

Day 1: Drive from Kampala to Kibale, enjoy an afternoon Nature Walk in Bigodi Swamp 

After a safari briefing in Kampala by your driver guide, you will head to Kibale National Park via Mubende. You will arrive after about five hours’ drive. Have lunch at the lodges followed by an evening Bigodi Swamp nature walk. During the hike, expect to see birrds, monkeys and other primates that inhabit the wetland. Take an overnight stay at Ndali Lodge, Kibale Forest Camp or Primates Lodge on a full board basis.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale Forest 

After breakfast, will be driven to Kanyanchu the park head quarters where tourist activities begin and set out to track chimpanzee in the forest. Tracking may take 2 – 6 hours while in the dense forest. Chances of viewing the chimps are guaranteed though on minor incidents after rival family fighting may not be seen, the threatened Red colobus monkey and the rare L’Hoest’s monkey. The forest also boasts of having one of the highest diversity and density of primates in Africa totaling 13 species including the Black and white colobus, Blue monkey, Grey-cheeked mangabey, Red tailed monkey and Bush babies and Pottos. There are also many birds and forest animal species. Afternoon will take on a nature walk to the Bigodi wetlands. View a variety of butterflies, birds and other insects. After lunch, take a Swamp Walk through the Bigodi Conservation Area to explore the wetland rich with Flora & Fauna. Overnight at Ndali lodge or Primates Lodge

Day 3: Drive to Semuliki National Park

Very early in the mornings depart Kibale chimpanzee forest for Semuliki National park.  The drive will take you down the eastern side of Lake Albert. Situated in the basin of the western Rift valley, Semuliki National Park is one of the parks with many habitats ranging from Riparian forests, rain forests to short and high grass savannah. It is also well-known for its night game drive that reward you with nocturnal dwellers like the white tailed mongoose and slender mongoose, standard and pennant winged nightjars, cats, hyenas, leopards and many more. The park generally offers lots of surprises because you never know what you might find. Dinner and overnight at Semuliki Lodge or Camp.

Day 4: Game Drive, Visit Community and Sempaya Hot Springs and Transfer to Fort Portal for Overnight. 

Wildlife in Uganda

Have a cup of tea to go out for game drive to catch up with animals that you missed on the night game drive. There are also a number of bird species which are found in this picturesque forest. Back to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon you go for the park’s fantastic scenery and a number of hot springs with warm water claimed to cure certain diseases. From the park you will be engaged in different activities such as forest jungle walk, birding, primates viewing and scenic viewing of River Semuliki meanders. Have a stopover at “Mungu Ni Mukubwa’’ where the road offers a great scenic view of the meandering of river Semuliki, fuming hot springs as well as the tropical rain forest. Make a visit to the Batwa community (pygmies living in Uganda). Go to the Sempaya Hot Springs. In the evening, drive to Fort portal for overnight and dinner at the Mountains of the Moon Hotel or Fort Mortel

Day 5: Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Take Breakfast and start a 4 hour charming ride to Queen Elizabeth National Park going through Kasese Area famous for the great Rwenzori Mountains and the crater lakes. Take lunch and relaxation at the Lodge and later take a sun-set game-drive to end the day in a wild exploratory style. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge /Jacana Safari Lodge / Institute of Ecology (FB)

Day 6: Game Drive and a Boat Cruise of Kazinga Channel 

You will have an early-morning game-drive with informative Ranger guide who will create an avenue for you to see more wild animals as he leads you to the various habitats of game.  Lunch at the Lodge and later in the afternoon take a boat-ride on Kazinga Channel to see a variety of animals and birds. Our skilled guides will answer your questions as you enjoy the cruise. Come equipped with cameras and binocular for good visibility of relatively distant creatures. Dinner and overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge, Jacana Safari Lodge or Enganzi Lodge.

Day 7: Ishasha Game Drive and Proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Have breakfast and leave for Bwindi going through the vast Ishasha Sector, a famous section of the park known for several tree-climbing lions. A game drive drive through Ishasha is much rewarding. Continue to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest where you will arrive in the afternoon hours to a delicious lunch at the lodge. Dinner and overnight at Silverback Lodge or Buhoma Havens Lodge (FB).

Day 8: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After a morning breakfast, head for gorilla trekking exercise which the major tourist activity in the park. Carry packed lunch alongside an experienced guide. You will be taken to the Park headquarters for the brief on the gorillas. The trek may be tiresome but enjoyable. Your encounter with the great primates gives a good portrayal of trekking. You will appreciate the jungle sound as you see various forest Flora and fauna. Go for relaxation after the tiresome gorilla trek. Dinner and overnight at Silverback Lodge or Buhoma Havens Lodge (FB).

Day 9: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park, enjoy an evening Boat Cruise

Take your early morning breakfast, and set off for Lake Mburo National Park. Lake Mburo National Park is well-known for its wealth in biodiversity and it has about 68 different species of mammals. You will have lunch in Mbarara town from where you will head to Park in the afternoon. On reaching the park you will go for a boat ride on Lake Mburo and this will prize you with game like hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes and an abundance of birds. Dinner and overnight at Mantana tented Camp / Rwonyo Rest Camp.

Day 10: Game Drive, Wildlife and  Ride on Lake Mburo.

Early morning, go for a game drive in the park to seek out for predators and other animal species like the hyenas, leopards, jackals, buffaloes, zebras, impalas, Topis and eland to mention. After the game drive, return to the Lodge for a heavy breakfast followed by a departure to Kampala with lunch en route. Make a stop at the equator for photographs, coffee and continuee to the city where  you will arrive in the evening.
