5 Days Gorilla Trek Uganda & Lake Mburo Safari

This is a 5 days Uganda gorilla trek to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, the dwelling place for Mountain Gorillas in Uganda and where Gorilla Trekking is mainly done from and can be supplemented by community visits. There are over 420 mountain gorillas inhabiting Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, this number is roughly 50% of the total number of Mountain Gorillas on the planet that are about 100 gorillas.

Mountain Gorillas in Bwindi ForestDay 1: Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest 

Early in the morning, set off for your Uganda Gorilla Tour to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park in western Uganda. You will drive towards South Western Uganda going through Mpigi (Stop at the Uganda Equator for photo shots), Uganda Equator is an imaginary point where the Northern Hemisphere separates from the Southern Hemisphere, and it is a tourist spot for photo taking, relaxation and handicraft shopping. There are also different souvenirs shops at the Equator where you can buy souvenirs to show off your adventure to your friends and family. Proceed with the journey through Masaka, Lyantonde and passing by the side of Lake Mburo National Park up to Mbarara Town where you will have lunch. After lunch, you will proceed with the journey and you will arrive at the park in the evening. Check in your accommodation for an overnight rest as you focus on the amazing Gorilla Trekking activities of the next day. Overnight at Gorilla Mist Camp, Buhoma Community Bandas or Mahogany Springs.

Day 2: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Forest

Wake up early enough, get breakfast and be escorted to the park offices for briefing by the guide and then start your adventure into the wild green to trace the gorillas. The time taken is between 2- 8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. Coming face to face with these mountain gorillas is one of the most thrilling experiences you can ever have. You will have a chance to observe and take pictures and you will enjoy them from a close range observing adults feeding, grooming and resting as the youngsters play and move backward and forward in a satisfyingly amusing manifestation. With time allowing, you may use the evening enjoying guided village walk to nearby communities to observe and familiarize yourselves with the different aspects of Ugandan lives, cultures and lifestyles or else, you will take rest. Overnight at Gorilla Mist Camp, Buhoma Community Bandas or Mahogany Springs.

Day 3: Transfer to Lake Mburo

Start your morning with breakfast and then leave for lake Mburo National Park. You will arrive in the afternoon and straight awy go for a boat cruise on Lake Mburo. Its an amazing experience during which you will see lots of birds and animals. In the evening, go for overnight stay and dinner at Rwakobo Rock on Full board.

Day 5: Do a Game Drive and Transfer to Kampala

Start the day with an early breakfast and then set off across the beautiful hills of Kabale as you return to Kampala. Lunch enroute (Mbarara or Masaka Town) from where you will proceed to Kampala making a brief stopover at the Uganda Equator again if you want for a photo session. Arrive in Kampala in the evening and the driver will transfer your accommodation. End of the Gorilla and  Safari Tour.
