Nkuringo Bwindi Mountain Gorilla Lodge

Nkuringo Bwindi Mountain Gorilla Lodge is found in Nkuringo sector, the southern gorilla trekking region of the vast Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Standing at an elevation of 2161 meters, Nkuringo gorilla lodge is positioned on the Nteko ridge overseeing a good-looking ribbon of the world’s well-renowned Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. The crest offers a splendid vantage through the Kashasha River Valley to the wooded hill called ‘Nkuringo’ and the nearby envelop of Bwindi Forest trees.

This portion of Bwindi forest a home to 4 Nkuringo Gorilla families which are all accessible from the lodge which works as a pivotal point for trekking mountain gorillas. Which at the lodge, you have panoramic views of the magnificent volcanoes of the Virunga sequence, across the cliff into the Albertine Rift Valley inside the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge, previously called Nkuringo Gorilla Camp, has spontaneously developed over the ages from a campground in 2007 to a well-developed facility. This growth won credibility title in a row as ‘Uganda’s Leading Safari Lodge at the World Travel Awards (WTA) in 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019.

The lodge has 8 Garden Cottages, 3 Villas made up of 2 intersecting outstanding cottages and 1 family Villa with a joint terrace. All the cottages are hand-crafted using local ingredients with each having a sitting area, fireside, en-suite bathroom and private Porch. The lodge offers the peacefulness of the tropical rain forest, the thermosphere of a mountain holiday home and the heartfelt friendliness Ugandans are celebrated for.

Access to the Lodge 

Nkuringo Bwindi Lodge can be accessed by thosee doing Uganda gorilla trekking in Bwindi from Kigali via Cyanika to Kisoro and then continue to the lodge. Visitors can also fly from Entebbe to Kisoro airstrip and then transfer to Nkuringo. A 3 days Uganda gorilla safari tour from Kampala to Kabale and then to Nkuringo lodge is also very possible.
