FULL TRIP ITINERARY 

DAY 1: TRAVEL TO KIBALE NATIONAL PARK

We depart in the morning from Kampala and head west to Kibale National Park. Kibale is known as a famous habitat for chimpanzees which are believed to be the closest relatives of man. Overnight at Kibale Forest Camp, Primates Lodge Kibale (Full Board)

DAY 2: DO CHIMPS TREKKING, ENJOY BIGODI SWAMP NATURE WALK

In the morning after breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for briefing before heading through the forest to search for chimpanzees. You will come close to chimps and other primates like the red tailed monkeys, colobus monkeys and many more. The trek will give you an opportunity to observe a wide range of primates, Birds and Butterflies through a network of dappled jungle trail. In the afternoon you will go for a nature walk in the Bigodi Swamp. The swamp is congregation hub to over 200 bird species, including the most well-liked bird for tourists, the Corythaeola Cristata (Great Blue Turaco). Run by the Kibale Association for Rural and Environmental Development (Kafred), the Bigodi marsh benefits a lot from the Kibale National Park for the reason that there are some primates including chimpanzees which now and then visit, making them part of the animal-stock that tourists come to see in Bigodi. DAY 3: DRIVE TO QUEEN ELIZABETH NP; DO LAUNCH CRUISE ON KAZINGA CHANNEL

Early morning after breakfast, drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Queen Elizabeth National Park is one of the most excellent treasures of Uganda and named after UK’s Queen Elizabeth II when she visited Uganda in 1954. As you get into the park you will be able to see the escapements of Rwenzori Mountain Crater Lakes, rift valley and spot some animals on the road side. Over 95 species of mammals and 600 species of birds have been recorded at this vast park. After checking in at the lodge, you take a rest, have lunch and then go for launch cruise on the Kazinga Channel. Kazinga channel found in Queen Elizabeth National Park is a 40 km water channel that joins Lakes George and Edward. Any tourist to this park cannot fail to be overwhelmed by the Channel’s amazing animal variety. It’s at Kazinga Channel where many buffalos rest in the water while big herds of elephants and different bird species can be seen enjoying moments along the channel shoreline. A greater part of visitors who take part in the 2 hour launch cruise along the channel look upon it as the highlight of their African Uganda expedition. There are also concentrations of hippos and birds. In short, this water cruise offers an admirable platform for clear photography, extensive bird-watching and an across-the-board game viewing. Retire in the evening to Enganzi Lodge, Mweya Safari Lodge or Kingfisher Kichwamba Lodge (Full Board)

DAY 4: GAME DRIVE, VISIT THE CRATER LAKE OR DO MORE GAME VIEWING

On this day, you will wake up early enough, take your breakfast and then set off for a morning game drive, during which you will have an opportunity to spot hippos, elephants, spotted hyenas, lions, leopards, stripped jackals, bushbucks, water bucks and warthogs and many wild animals. Retire from the game drive late morning and go back to the lodge for a rest as you admire nature. After the game drive, you will return to the lodge and take arrest. After lunch, visit Katwe salt lake as see how local communities survive by mining salt. You can also have more game drive in the park to spot more animals that you might have missed in the morning. Retire in the evening to Enganzi Lodge, Mweya Safari Lodge or Kingfisher Kichwamba Lodge (Full Board)

DAY 5: DRIVE TO BWINDI FOREST, ENROUTE ISAHSA SECTOR

Take breakfast and drive to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest going through the Isasha sector where you will probably get a change spot tree-climbing lions before proceeding with the journey to the gorilla habitat. Arrive during lunch hours and after lunch at the lodge, you will take community tours around the area and enjoy guided village walk to nearby communities to observe and familiarize yourselves with the different aspects of Ugandan lives, cultures and lifestyles or else, you will take rest at the lodge. Overnight Buhoma Community Bandas, Gorilla Mist Camp or Mahogany Springs (Full Board)

DAY 6: GORILLA TREKKING IN BWINDI FOREST

Get breakfast and be escorted to the park offices to begin your adventure. You will get some briefing from a local guide and then set off to the forest with packed lunch. The time taken is between 1- 8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. Coming face to face with these mountain gorillas is one of the most electrifying experiences you can ever have. You will have a chance to observe and take pictures and you will enjoy them from a close range observing adults feeding, grooming and resting as the youngsters play and move backward and forward in a pleasantly comical demonstration. DAY 7: DRIVE TO LAKE BUNYONYI

Take breakfast in the morning and drive off to Lake Bunyonyi, the deepest lake in Africa, good scenery & amazing waters. Lake Bunyonyi is travelers paradise because of it’s amazing panorama and environment. Take a nature walk around the lake. Also visit the typical Abaheesi (black smiths) societies or to the Bukora Cave. Have lunch and use the afternoon, evening for a boat ride or go for a cycling tour of the area, going to Orugano Rain Forest which has different plants and animals and some community tourism through interaction with the Batwa (pygmies) who dwell in parts of the forest and its surrounding areas. Overnight at Bunyonyi Overland Resort, Bunyonyi Safari Lodge, Arcadia Cottages (Full Board).

DAY 8: DRIVE TO LAKE MBURO; TAKE A BOAT RIDE IN AFTERNOON

Wake up early enough, freshen up, take your breakfast and drive to Lake Mburo National park where you will reach in the early afternoon. Check in, take a rest and enjoy your lunch. In the afternoon, take a Boat Ride and evening nature walk respectively. A boat ride on Lake Mburo to view animals like the hippos’ buffaloes, and crocodiles alongside the many birds around the area which are attractive to see and a nature is worth admiring. Overnight at Mburo Safari Lodge, Arcadia Cottages, Mihingo Lodge or Rwakobo Rock Lodge.

DAY 9: GAME DRIVE AND DRIVE BACK TO KAMPALA, CONNECT TO JINJA

In the morning after breakfast, get set to take game drive through the national park with your guide. The park is excellent for its attractive, peacefully sloping hills and open grassland basins, intermingled with brushwood, woodlands and rich wetlands. During a game drive at Lake Mburo National Park, you will see animals like the impalas, waterbucks, the Cape buffalo and zebras plus the Eland, many other animal species making it among the most splendid places to visit in Uganda. You will return to the lodge late morning and then checkout to start your journey to Kampala. Lunch enroute, after lunch, proceed with journey to Kampala but stop at the Uganda Equator, this is where there an imaginary line the divides planet earth into two sections, the North and South Hemisphere. Take photos at the equator and visit the craft and souvenir shop here, spending about 40 minutes and then proceed to Kampala and arrive in the late afternoon and then connect to Jinja. DAY 10: VISIT THE SOURCE OF RIVER NILE, SIGHTSEEING AND RELAXATION

In the morning, You will visit the source of the Nile that a British explorer, John Speke discovered. At the source, you can have a boat ride in the calm water, take photo shots, enjoy nature and water breeze. At the source, its mainly sightseeing and relaxation of the mind. Take lunch later and make more relaxation in jinja.
While in Jinja, you may choose any of the optional activities which include:

– Bungee Jumping
– Horse Riding
– Nile Boat Cruise and Quad Biking

DAY 11: VISIT SEZIBWA FALLS ENROUTE KAMPALA; CONNECT TO ENTEBBE, FLY HOME

In the morning after breakfast, start your journey back to Kampala. You will have a short visit to Ssezibwa Falls in Mukono and admire the natural beauty and the wonders of the falls. Be here for about two hours and proceed to Kampala. At Sezibwa, you will take pictures and see people
seeking traditional healings and luck bathing in the water falls. Then proceed to Kampala and finally connect to Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight. End of the Tour.
