9 Days Rhino Trekking, Wildlife Safaris, Chimp Tracking and Gorilla Trekking

This 7 days trip involves Rhino Trekking, Wildlife, Chimps & Gorilla Trek. During this Uganda Safari tour, you will do Rhino Tracking at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, wildlife safaris and tours in Murchison Falls, chimpanzee tracking in Kibale forest and mountain gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest.

Full Trip Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park, Enjoy Rhino Tracking enroute.

In the morning, you are picked up by our driver guide from Kampala and start your trip to Murchison Falls National Park. You will do Rhino Trekking enroute at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary in Nakasongola for about 3 hours before continuing with the journey to the park. Enjoy lunch in Masindi. Arrive at the park in the evening.

Murchison Falls Park is a habitat to a large number of African wild animals including Water buffalo, elephant, Crocodile, Lion, Leopard, Hippopotamus, Antelope, Giraffes, Uganda Kob, Oribi and other animals. The Nile River, within the park, is a home to a variety of water birds, including the uncommon Shoe bill stork. Stay at Murchison River Lodge, Paraa Safari Lodge or Sambiya River Lodge (Full Board)

Day 2: Game Drive Safari in Murchison Falls and Launch Cruise

Start the day with an early morning game drive before dawn to catch up with the risers in the early hours. This exciting game drive will enable you spot animals like the jackals, hartebeests, oribi, bush bucks, bohor reed bucks, hyenas, giraffes, lions, antelopes, elephants and the Uganda kob among the many. You will rest from the game drive for anything to eat and later on lunch at the lodge.

The afternoon time will be for an open launch cruise (Boat ride on the calm Nile). The boat trip will take you to the bottom of the falls where animals like the buffaloes, hippos, crocodiles, elephants and plenty of water birds like the herons, cormorants, ducks, bee-eaters, kingfishers, skimmers, fish eagles, the rare shoebill and many more species can be viewed from the peaceful sailing boat. The base of the falls is also an overwhelming experience. Stay overnight at Murchison River Lodge, Paraa Safari Lodge or Sambiya River Lodge (Full Board)

Day 3: Drive to Kibale National Park

Wake up early for an 11-hour journey to Kibale National Park. Have lunch enroute. Arrive in the evening. Stay overnight at Primates Lodge Kibale or Kibale Forest Camp (Full Board).

Day 4: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale Forest and Bigodi Nature Walk

Wake up early, enjoy breakfast and move to the park offices for briefing on the trekking exercise. After briefing, you will be led to the forest by a guide for the amazing chimps tracking. You will later return to the lodge for lunch and then go for afternoon nature walk in the Bigodi Swamp area where you will spot an array of primates and birds. Return top the lodge in the evening. Stay overnight at Primates Lodge or Kibale Forest Camp (Full Board).

Day 5: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, enjoy an afternoon Boat Cruise

After breakfast, drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Arrive around midday, check in at the lodge and have lunch. After a meal, drive to Kazinga channel where you will have a 2-hour boat cruise. Expect to spot lots of animals and birds as you enjoy the coolness of the calm waters. In the evening, return to the lodge for relaxation and dinner. Overnight stay at Ihamba Lakeside Safari Lodge or Enganzi Lodge.

Day 6: Game Drive and proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, the Mountain Gorilla Habitat

Wake up early for a morning game drive in the park. Several animal species including some of the Big Five ones await for you in the game reserve. On a lucky day, you may find a lion hunting their prey and it’s such an incredible moment. Queen Elizabeth National Park is among the tourist destinations in Uganda with a variety of wild animals, birds and amazing landscape. Awed by the wildlife variety in the park, return to the lodge for a heavy breakfast and continue to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, the home to mountain gorillas in Uganda. Arrive in Buhoma sector in the evening. Stay at Silverback Lodge or Mahogany Springs on full board.

Day 7: Gorilla Tracking Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

Get breakfast and be escorted to the park offices to begin your adventure. You will get some briefing from a local guide and then set off to the forest equipped with packed lunch. The time taken is between 1- 8 hours depending on the movement of the gorillas. Coming face to face with these mountain gorillas is one of the most electrifying experiences you can ever have.

You will have a chance to observe and take pictures and you will enjoy them from a close range observing adults feeding, grooming and resting as the youngsters play and move backward and forward in a pleasantly comical demonstration. With time allowing, you may use the evening enjoying guided village walk to the communities in close proximity to observe cultures and lifestyles or else, you will take rest. Stay at Gorilla Mist Camp, Gorilla Resort or Mahogany Springs on full board.

Day 8: Drive back to Kampala

Start the day with an early breakfast and then set off across the beautiful hills of Kabale as you return to Kampala. Take lunch enroute. You will proceed to Kampala making a brief stopover at the Uganda Equator for a photo session. Uganda Equator is point that separates the North from the Southern Hemisphere. Arrive in Kampala in the evening. The driver will transfer you to your accommodation at Speke Hotel or Urban by City Blue Hotel on full board.

Day 9: Airport Transfer 

Breakfast on this day and transfer to Entebbe Airport. End of the Uganda safari.
