Uganda Safaris and Tours – The Ultimate Adventure of Uganda’s Attractions

The Uganda Safaris and Tours package takes you to all the National Parks and tourist sites across Uganda. The trip involves visiting Murchison Falls, Kibale Forest, Semuliki Game Reserve, Queen Elizabeth NP, Bwindi Impenetratable Forest Gorilla National Park, Mgahinga and Lake Mburo. 17 days, 16 nights.

Day 1: Entebbe Airport to Kampala

At Entebbe International Airport, you are picked up our driver guide and be transferred to your booked hotel in Kampala a rest.

Day 2: Drive to Murchison Falls National Park

Begin your Uganda Safaris to Murchison Falls with an introductory visit to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary on the way. Lunch in Masindi and proceed to view Magnificent Top of the Falls. Here you will see the calm Nile forcing its self through a narrow gorge to fall a distance of about 150 feet down producing a thunderous roar of white water- it’s a hard to believe scenery! You will the board a ferry to cross over to Paraa Lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Game Drive Safaris and Boat Cruise

This morning, explore the exhilarating beauty of the park by taking a game-drive in the famous Nyamsika plateau located on the North bank of the park. Break for Lunch and then take an afternoon 3hr boat-cruise on the Nile River. The cruise takes you to the bottom of the thunderous falls where you will see huge crocodiles, schools of hippos, buffaloes, elephants and a variety of water birds like herons, cormorants, ducks, bee-eaters, kingfishers, skimmers, fish eagle and the exceptional shoebill. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4:
 Drive to Kibale National Park.

After breakfast take a long ride of 7 hours drive over hills, down valleys, through villages and trading centers with lunch en-route to Kibale Forest.

Day 5: Chimpanzee Trekking Safari and Bigodi Nature Walk

After breakfast, will be driven to Kanyanchu the park head quarters where tourist activities begin and set out to track chimpanzee in the forest. Tracking may take 2 – 6 hours while in the dense forest. Chances of viewing the chimps are guaranteed though on minor incidents after rival family fighting may not be seen, the threatened Red colobus monkey and the rare L’Hoest’s monkey.

The forest also boasts of having one of the highest diversity and density of primates in Africa totaling 13 species including the Black and white colobus, Blue monkey, Grey-cheeked mangabey, Red tailed monkey and Bush babies and Pottos. There are also many birds and forest animal species. Afternoon will take on a nature walk to the Bigodi wetlands. View a variety of butterflies, birds and other insects. Have a tour of the crater region around Ndali lodge. After lunch, take a Swamp Walk through the Bigodi Conservation Area for an occasion to explore the Swamp rich with Flora & Fauna.

Day 6: Drive to Semuliki National Park

Very early in the mornings depart Kibale chimpanzee forest for Semuliki national park.  The drive will take you down the eastern side of Lake Albert. Situated in the basin of the western Rift valley, Semliki National Park is one of the parks with many habitats ranging from Riparian forests, rain forests to short and high grass savannah. It is also well-known for its night game drive that reward you with nocturnal dwellers like the white tailed mongoose and slender mongoose, standard and pennant winged nightjars, cats, hyenas, leopards and many more. This is the only place in Uganda where you can do a spot lit night drive. The park generally offers lots of surprises because you never know what you might find.

Day 7: Game Drive, Visit Hot Springs

Have a cup of tea to go out for game drive to catch up with animals that you missed on the night game drive. There are also a number of bird species which are found in this scenic forest. Back to the lodge for lunch and in the afternoon, go for the park’s fantastic scenery and a number of hot springs with warm water claimed to cure certain diseases.

From the park you will be engaged in different activities such as forest jungle walk, birding, primates viewing and scenic viewing of River Semliki meanders. Have a stopover at “Mungu Ni Mukubwa’’ where the road offers a great scenic view of the meandering of river Semiliki, fuming hot springs as well as the tropical rain forest. Make a visit to the Bambuti community (pygmies living in Uganda). Go to the Sempaya hot springs.

Day 8: Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park

Take Breakfast and start a 4 hour delightful ride to Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will go through Fort portal and Kasese Areas famous for the great Rwenzori Mountains and the crater lakes. Take lunch and relaxation at the Lodge and later take a sun-set game-drive to end the day in an adventurous fashion. This park is among the best destinations where Uganda safaris are enjoyed to the maximum since it has lots of animals and birds plus several sections of different activities. Dinner and Overnight at Mweya Safari Lodge or Mweya Hostel.

Day 9: Game Drive and Boat Cruise on Kazinga Channel

Start an early morning game-drive with an informative Ranger guide who will create an avenue for you to see more wild animals as he leads you to the various habitats of game.  Lunch at the Lodge and later in the afternoon take a boat-ride on Kazinga Channel to see both Semi & Aquatic animals that call the channel their livelihood. The channel is also an area for spotting many bird species like the flamingos etc.

Day 10: Isasha Sector Game Viewing Safaris

Found on the banks of Uganda’s Ntungwe River and set within the Queen Elizabeth National Park, Ishasha Wilderness Camp is a peaceful retreat surrounded by a great quantity of wildlife. Famous for its tree-climbing lions, the Queen Elizabeth National Park’s cratered hills and expansive grasslands are home to a fantastic variety of flora and fauna, including 610 species of bird, and what is said to be the world’s largest concentration of hippo

Day 11: Go to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park

Take your delicious breakfast and set off for Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. After checking in your accommodation and a brief relation, take lunch and go for a guided community walk to nearby areas to witness and experience these Ugandan ways of life, cultures, traditions and lifestyle. It’s a walk worth doing. Overnight at Buhoma community Bandas/Gorilla Resort (Full Board)

Day 12: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Forest 

Have your breakfast and get a short briefing by the tour guides and head for the dense rain forest to track Gorillas. Coming across the most peaceful, very rare and endangered of all the apes, ‘Gorilllas’ is an enthralling and an unforgettable experience. After an hour with the giants, return to the lodge. With a free afternoon at your disposal, have a guided village walk to nearby communities to see and experience these Ugandan lives, cultures, traditions and lifestyles. It’s another walk worth participating. Overnight at Buhoma community Bandas/Gorilla Resort (Full Board)

Day 13: Departure for Mgahinga National Park.

After breakfast, set off for Mgahinga National Park going through Bushenyi, Kabale and its fantastic scenery of terraced hills. Arrive in Kisoro on your way to Mgahinga National Park.

Day 14: Golden Monkey Tracking in Mgahinga, transfer to Lake Bunyonyi

After an early breakfast, set off for the national park for the Golden Monkey tracking activity on one of the three volcanoes which make up the park, (Mt Sabinyo, Mount Gahinga or Muhavura). The monkeys are found in the bamboo forest that go round the lower slopes of the volcanoes. The monkeys are very active in the canopy of the bamboo where your guides imitate their calls to follow the group. If time allows, use the afternoon to visit Kisoro market which offers a unique cultural experience. Alternatively a short nature walk is possible to gain vantage over the town of Kisoro to view the volcanoes and neighbouring Lake Mutanda.

Day 15: A brief visit to Lake Bunyonyi and transfer to Lake Mburo NP,

After breakfast, set off for Lake Mburo National Park, but make a brief stop at the magnificent Lake Bunyonyi, the second deepest lake in Africa for photographs. Continue with your return journey and arrive in lunch hours, have a lunch break before proceeding to the park. In the afternoon, go for a boat ride on Lake Mburo. This ride will reward you with view of animals and birds at the lake shores. Retire at Rwonyo camp or Mantana Tented Camp for dinner and overnight.

Day 16: Game Drive and Depart for Kampala

After breakfast, enjoy a game drive for about 4 hours and then drive to Kampala. Lunch in Masaka and arrive in Kampala in the evening. Relax at your accommodation for dinner and overnight awaiting your flight the next day.

Day 17: Airport Transfer

Our driver picks you at the hotel some hours to the flight and drops you at the airport for your departure. End of the Fascinating Uganda safaris and Tours.
