Chimpanzee Trekking Rwanda in Nyungwe National Park

Day 1: From Kigali transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park, the habitat for Chimpanzees in Rwanda.

Thhis 3 Days Chimpanzee Trekking Rwanda safari begins in Kigali. After breakfast at your hotel in Kigali, the driver will pick you up and drive to you to the city where you will do a city tour. Visit the Genocide Memorial site, you will also visit the tourist attractions sites of traditional Rwanda King’s palace in Nyanza and also the Cultural Museum in Butare later you will drive to Nyunwge Forest. This takes about 6-7 hours drive. Nyungwe forest has a wide diversity of animal species; it contains 13 different primate species, 275 bird species, 85 mammal species, 32 amphibian and 38 reptile species. When you arrive, you will check in at the lodge, where you will have dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking Rwanda and Nature Walk

You will have breakfast early in the morning; later go to Nyungwe National Park offices for a briefing. After the briefing in the company of the game rangers you will go for Chimpanzee trekking. You will expect to see other primates like Angolan colobus monkeys, golden monkeys, Red tailed and blue monkeys among others. The trek takes about 3-5 hours. After the trek you will go for lunch and then relax for a few hours. In the evening you will go for a guided nature walk in the forest. This is also a good time for birders to enjoy the tour. The Forest is a home to various bird species like the black and white casqued horn-bill and the Rwenzori Turacco among others. You will later return to the lodge where you will have dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer to Kigali – Departure
After breakfast you will drive from Nyungwe Forest which takes about 6-7 hours. Have lunch in Kigali upon arrival. Later you will be transferred to the airport for your departure flight.
