3 Days Mgahinga Gorilla Trekking

Take a 3 Days Mgahinga Gorilla Trekking Tour in South Western Uganda. Mgahinga National Park is 14 km from Kisoro town covering about 33 square kilometers in the district of Kisoro whose inhabitants are Bafumbira. The park is habituated by the rare mountain gorillas making it much conducive for the primate tours. Mgahinga and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park are the only wildlife reserves in Uganda inhabited by the gorillas.

Day 1: Kampala to Kisoro Town

In the morning after breakfast, depart from Kampala, Uganda’s Capital city to Kisoro which is about 540 km. You drive through Mpigi, Masaka, Lyantonde, Mbarara (lunch stop), Ntungamo and finally arrive in Kisoro in the afternoon. Overnight at Mgahinga Safari Lodge and Travelers’ Rest.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Mgahinga

Enjoy an early morning breakfast and shortly after, the guide leads you through the gorilla’s world, clearing up aspects of their ecosystem and behavior. Gorilla trekking is the most thrilling and extraordinary experience that might take one through a thick tropical forest for a whole day.

Tracking Mgahinga gorillas can take three to eight hours. The trekking activity may be tiresome and therefore needs visitors who can strongly walk for some time. It is wise that you to wear good foothold shoes suitable for mud-covered places and carry binoculars for straightforward visualization. Day 3: Depart Back to Kampala

After a morning breakfast, head back to Kampala. Lunch in Masaka and have a brief stop t the Uganda for a few photo shots and handicraft shopping.
