Day 1: Drive to Kibale Forest, do a Nature walk at Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary

Very early in the morning, you will be picked from your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe and begin a 6 hours journey to Kibale National Park. Upon arrival at the park, you have lunch at the lodge, have a brief rest and use the evening hours for a nature walk in Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary near kibale. Bigodi Wetland is a very superlative area for appreciating Mother Nature and its possessions.

Bigodi swamp is well-known for an affluence of biological diversity including the white and black L’Hoest monkeys, the red colobus monkeys, the grey cheeked monkeys, the colobus monkeys, the mangabey, red tailed monkey, vervet monkey, blue monkey and baboon among the many. Other mammals that may be seen at the swamp include sitatungas, bush pigs, bush bucks and otters to mention. Primate species most likely to be seen consist of chimpanzees and the mongoose from Kibale forest that at times pay visits to the wetland. Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary is also a spot of enjoyment for bird watching lovers. This is so because the over 138 species of bird species have been documented to inhabit the wetland. Prominent at the swamp is the great blue turaco and lots of birds. In the evening, go back to the lodge for a warm dinner and overnight. Day 2: Enjoy Chimpanzee Trekking Kibale Forest, Transfer back to Kampala

Enjoy a heavy breakfast to get enough energy for hiking into the forest. After breakfast, you will go for briefing by the park guides and then start walking into the forest in search of chimpanzees, the closest species to Humans in terms of biological features and traits. Led by guides into the forest for a walk, you will awesomely meet the chimps as they do their routine shouts, murmurs and games across tree branches and stems.

Kibale forest is very rich in primate diversity and likelihoods of seeing species like the colobus monkeys and red tailed monkeys plus many monkey species are very high. Besides seeing chimps to your satisfaction in the forest, the forest walk will offer an opportunity to see several birds and insects like butterflies along the forest track.

After a wonderful chimpanzee safari, transfer back to your lodge for lunch. After lunch, you will begin a 6-hour drive back to Kampala or Entebbe. You will arrive in Kampala close to sundown and the driver guide will drop you to your hotel either in Kampala or Entebbe as you may wish. This Uganda Chimps Safari Ends.
